How Brightgrid works
The specified workflow, from occupancy signal through to a decision that can be evidenced. Each step describes intended behaviour only.
Design intent: fully specified, not yet built
Step 01
Establish zones and read occupancy
Sites are described as floors and zones. Brightgrid reads occupancy for each zone over time, so every later decision is tied to a defined space rather than a whole building.
Step 02
Recommend heating, ventilation and lighting schedules
For each zone, Brightgrid produces scheduling recommendations that follow observed occupancy patterns. Recommendations are proposed for review; the operator decides what is adopted.
Step 03
Track energy cost and consumption
Consumption and cost are tracked per site and per floor over time, so the effect of an adopted schedule can be seen against the period before it.
Step 04
Flag anomalies
Out-of-hours consumption spikes and zones running empty while still being conditioned are flagged for investigation, rather than waiting to appear on a bill.
Step 05
Report and compare scenarios
Consumption trend and occupancy efficiency are prepared as evidence for ESG reporting, and scenarios can be compared side by side to support space-consolidation decisions.
